Strategy and Focus

Someone Else’s Child is recognized as an innovative, community-oriented, sustainable non-profit focused on underserved children and teens. Community Impact Ventures (CIV) complements the foundation’s efforts through early investments in socially focused entrepreneurial companies.

CIV seeks out opportunities throughout the United States and beyond to support the growth of social enterprise firms focused on the needs of children/teens/young adults.

CIV invests in organizations or programs where its mentoring, financial, and strategic resources have the potential for significant impact. This is typically small to mid-size organizations that are poised for growth. Investments are early and meant to take the organization from start-up to revenue-generating viability.

CIV is a community-focused organization that provides growth opportunities for the children/teens/young adults it serves, its employees, its collaborative partners, investors, foundations, educational institutions, and other stakeholders. Adherence to environmental, social and governance are a major consideration for all prospective partnerships.
